Blending Irish dance and Christmas spirit together, Sarasota-based Two Step Productions created new show "Carol of the King" in hopes of it becoming a Holiday staple — and it will stop in Ormond Beach during its inaugural U.S. tour.

"Carol of the King" will be in town for one night at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The show will feature a good vs. evil storyline and an arc of redemption, inspired by "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.

Justin Boros, creator and producer of the show, said that while there are other Irish music and dance shows out there, there was nothing like "Carol of the King." Boros also created "Rhythm of the Night: The Irish Dance Spectacular" and he wanted to incorporate aspects of that into a new holiday show.

“That was kind of the inspiration behind Carol of the King, and then we wanted to make it Christmas-themed with a unique storyline," Boros said.

Boros said the show took two and half years to put together and features 22 of the world's best Irish dancers, a complete original soundtrack featuring arrangements of Holiday favorites such as "Carol of the Bells," "O Holy Night" and "Hallelujah" to name a few. He said audiences can expect the same caliber of performance as "Rhythm of the Night."

“Just a full-on hour and 50 minutes of being engaged, being excited and then leaving feeling inspired and ignited with the Christmas spirit," Boros said.

He hopes audiences will love "Carol of the King" and decide to make it part of their Holiday traditions. He said Two Step Productions' goal is for the show to be around for the next 20 Christmases.

“It’s just something that’s really unique and they’re not used to seeing," Boros said. "We’re hoping that they leave very excited.”
