Two inches enough for thief

1:04 p.m. — 800 Block of South Atlantic Avenue. Burglary of Conveyance. The victim said she parked her car at Andy Romano Park at 10:30 a.m. She went back to her vehicle at 1 p.m. and noticed that her purse and I-Pad had been stolen. She said she had left the windows open about two inches.

The officer noted that it appeared that the suspect opened the door by hitting the lock button. No fingerprints were found.

The victim checked with her bank and discovered that her credit card had been used twice at gas stations, once for $21.90 and once for $47.50. There are no suspects.

Only cars can occupy spaces

12:42 p.m. — 800 Block of South Atlantic Avenue. Simple or Aggravated Assault. The suspect said she was pulling into an empty parking space at Andy Romano Park and stopped when she saw the victim standing in the space. She said the victim started screaming about how it was her space and her boyfriend was moving his car to that space to be closer. The suspect said she did not move her car anymore and called police.

The victim said the suspect pulled forward some more, as the boyfriend approached with his car, and hit her with the front bumper.

The suspect moved her car to another parking space.

The victim said she was not injured and did not wish to press charges. All three subjects were advised that they were not allowed to stand and hold parking spaces, and parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.
