Theft preplanned?

8:43 a.m. — First Block of Cypress Circle. Burglary. The landlord said he is the caregiver for the apartment renter, who is currently in the hospital. He said he came to water the plants that morning and noticed the gate to the backyard was ajar.

He entered the apartment and saw that the television was gone. He said the blinds in a bedroom were ruffled and disturbed.

The officer checked the window and found that it was slightly open. Handprints were found on the window, indicating that someone opened it by pushing up on it. Fingerprints were placed into evidence. Shoe prints were found in the yard, which were not from the landlord, and photos were taken.

The landlord said he had recently hired someone to work in the apartment, and they had time to unlock the window for future entry.
