DeSantis appoints two to the Halifax Health Board of Commissioners

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Gov. Ron DeSantis had appointed Audrey Butler and reappointed Dr. Carl “Rick” Lentz III to the Halifax Health Board of Commissioners. The governor announced the appointments on Sept. 2, according to a news release from Halifax Health.

Butler, former University of Iowa lecturer, is a board member for the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens and the Community Foundation of Volusia and Flagler counties, and is former chair of the Pace Center for Girls, which serves Volusia and Flagler counties. Butler holds a doctoral degree in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa, according to the news release.

Lentz, a retired surgeon from Lentz Plastic Surgery, is the former president of the Florida Medical Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as colonel, and holds a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Miami.
