Ormond Beach voters will have two city amendments on the ballot when they cast their votes in the upcoming election.

In addition to the election of the Zone 1 city commissioner, the Nov. 6 elections will also feature two Ormond Beach-specific amendments.

One of the items, Section 3.08, will decide whether to give the City Commission power to cancel one regular meeting per month, by supermajority vote. No more than four meetings could be canceled in a 12-month period.

The second item, Section 5.09, would eliminate the strict readjustment of city zones. Instead of following the center-line of streets, city zones could be readjusted based on landmarks.

Early voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 27 to Nov.3, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library.
