‘We’re a little different,’ doctor says.
Black Sheep Medical, a family practice at 1425 Hand Ave., Suite L, was welcomed as a member of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting July 31.
John R. Chewning, D.O., and Savitha Kasturi, D.O., have joined to provide medical services for all ages, from pediatric to elderly. Chewning was previously with another family practice and Kasturi was in urgent care.
The name “Black Sheep,” came from the fact that the practice is a little different, Chewning said.
“We’re a little bit fun,” he said. “We enjoy taking care of our patients.” He said they also listen to patients and hear them out.
Kasturi said they both have families, so family practice is something dear to their heart.
They have a blood mobile visit the office every three months, Chewning said, as a way to give back to the community. The practice also offers a monitored, medical weight loss program, and as doctors of osteopathy, can provide manipulation.
