The victim's vehicle was located on the inside shoulder of the northbound lanes near mile marker 267. At approximately 11:25 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said she tried to cross the highway and was struck and killed.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin but has been identified as a 61-year-old woman from Orlando.

The victim, according to the report, traveled into the direct path of Diane McFarland, 59, of Ohio, who was in the outside lane. McFarland's vehicle struck the victim, knocking her to the ground, according to the report.
