Congrats to Haley Tabor, Hannah Tabor, Brianna Gates and Olivia Squires-Propper!
Four Ormond Beach high school juniors from Spruce Creek High and Seabreeze High took top honors at this year’s Girls State leadership and citizenship program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Haley Tabor, Hannah Tabor and Brianna Gates are from Spruce Creek High were and Olivia Squires-Propper is from Seabreeze High School.
Of the 300 girls selected to attend from across Florida, Haley Tabor was one of only two chosen to represent Florida as a Senator at Girls Nation in Washington, D.C. Brianna Gates was selected as the first alternate for Girls Nation, and Hannah Tabor was awarded Most Outstanding Representative out of 113 members of the House of Representatives.
Beginning in 1937, ALA Girls State provides an educational opportunity for young women to instill the basic ideals and principles of American government. It is a non-partisan program committed to developing young women as future leaders grounded in patriotism and Americanism and support, cultivate, and encourage active participation in the American political process.
