The Ormond-By- The-Sea Fraternal Order of Eagles #4435 donated more than $3,300 to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Dec. 13 to provide mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women and men.

“We are so moved by their ongoing support. This is the third year in a row they’ve donated, every year it’s more money than the previous year,” said Carol Rumer, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center operations manager for offsite imaging services. “A few of the ladies involved are breast cancer survivors, so I know this is a cause that is close to their hearts.”

The philanthropic organization hosted a silent auction Nov. 5, which was originally scheduled for Oct. 8, but had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew. The group not only presented Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center with a check for $3,300, but also a signed poster, complete with 31 signatures of those who participated in the auction.
