Yoga Circle and Dance is celebrating their first anniversary at their new studio, 605½ S. Yonge St., with a Free Community Yoga Session on Dec. 6.

The session will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 3 p.m. There will be a 20-minute class with each of the five teachers with breaks in-between. Kim Friedman, who owns the studio along with Laura Ashland, said the session will allow the public to get to know the teachers at the studio.

“Teachers have different ways of presenting yoga and expressing themselves,” she said. “They can find one they like.”

Participants are also welcome to bring donations for the studio’s Business Clothing Drive to help women who are trying to get back into the workforce. The items will be donated to the Vince Carter Sanctuary Project Warm, which stands for Women Assisting Recovering Women.

“People can bring along any business clothes they have in their closet that they are not wearing anymore,” Friedman said.

Friedman said the studio promotes the yoga lifestyle which includes service to the community.

She also points out that the studio practices in room temperature, and is not “hot yoga.”

It is not necessary to bring a mat to take part in the free community event.
