The Grind receives high traveler ratings

Grind Gastropub & Kona Tiki Bar, 49 W. Granada Blvd., has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for consistently achieving outstanding reviews on the Web site.

To get the award, businesses must maintain an overall bubble rating of at least four out of five. Volume and popularity ranking are also factors. Call 672-7277.

Thrivent announces new hire

Katherine R. Kyle recently joined Thrivent Financial, 595 N. Nova Road, Suite 109A, as a financial associate for the Florida and Georgia Region. She previously worked as an attorney.

“Thrivent Financial is a financial services organization that helps Christians be wise with money and live generously,” Kyle said. She said she was attracted to the company because it “gives back to the community and builds relationships.”

ECN utilizes college interns

Emergency Communications Network, 780 W. Granada Blvd, Suite 200, has hired three summer interns from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to work in the software development department.

ECN is the nation’s largest provider of Web-based notification systems. This is the fifth year interns have been employed at the company and they have made significant contributions to technology, according to a company spokeswoman. Many have become full-time employees.

“We believe that combining our senior technology staff with fresh new talent contributes to our product innovation,” said Stephanie Meyers, marketing manager.
