Halifax Urban Ministries raised $26,000 last weekend, at its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The fourth-annual Blue Diamond Celebration, held Saturday, April 27, at Oceanside Country Club, 75 N. Halifax Drive, featured dinner and live music, as well as awards given to the Second Harvest Food Bank and former Ormond Beach mayor and state representative Fred Costello.

Costello was awarded the John C. Allen Jr. Humanitarian Award.

Forough Hosseini, founder of Food Brings Hope, was the night’s keynote speaker.

Money raised during the event will benefit Halifax Urban Ministries’ facilities and programs, including the Ormond Beach location, 54 S. Ridgewood Ave., and the Feed-a-Family program.
