Helen Brackett
Helen Brackett passed peacefully at home in Ormond Beach, FL on Thursday, March 31, 2022. She was 92 years old.
Born November 7, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Albert and Hilda Schindler. She is survived by her sister Ruth Webster, brother-in-law Al Webster and predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William Brackett. Surviving relatives include her children Diane Lombard of Naples, ME, Glenn Brackett of Lehigh Acres, FL, Cynthia Nardoza of Manahawkin, NJ and Kristina Chapman of Tucson, AZ and their spouses; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Helen was married at the age of 17 to William Brackett on November 16, 1946 in Elkton, Maryland. She worked various jobs while being a wonderful wife and mother to her children. She enjoyed painting, her pet dogs she had throughout her life, trips, many friendships and social functions with family and friends including members of the Shriners organization to which her husband was a devoted member. One of her happiest times was when she and her husband retired to Palm Coast, FL where they built their dream home. She lived a life so fulfilled and blessed by having so many loving and caring friends and family.
Her family and close friends will honor her name with a Celebration of Life to be held in Ormond Beach, FL during the 2022 Thanksgiving holiday – what better time to give thanks to a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful friend to those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
