Almost 200 local volunteers were recognized at a Florida Hospital HospiceCare luncheon last month — six for volunteering more than 10 years of service.

Florida Hospital HospiceCare hosted its 2013 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon to honor nearly 200 volunteers last month, at Oceanside Country Club, 75 N. Halifax Dive.
Contributing a combined 15,000 hours of labor in 2012, the workers' efforts are valued at more than $325,000.
“While this cost savings was very important, our hospice volunteers' most important contribution was in their connection to patients and families, as well as the comfort and enhanced quality of life their service created,” Raeanne Cade, HospiceCare volunteer coordinator, said
Recipients of One Year of Service pins are listed as follows: Patricia Alexander, Joanne Amicola, Jody Barbacci, Helen Biggs, Robin Broadfield, John Burgess, Linda Burgess, Elaine Carlton, Doris Claybourn, Charlene Cothran, Elizabeth Cronin, Louise Deckman, Joe Driscoll, Sue Fricker, Gerry Galley, Kathryn Garner, Mike Gleason, Jill Goldsmith, John Harrington, Jean Hill, Sandra Judy, Kathy Lowery, Lea Macquarrie, Bonnie Maguire, Rich McGowan, Bonnie Metz, Alicia Miller, Lee Mulvihill, Susan Pate, Lynne Ritter, Terry Shutz, Dortha Walker, Bea Walter and Sherry Wingard.
