First-time surfers of all ages gathered at Harvard Beach approach in Ormond Beach Sept. 30, to boogie board, hang ten and spray foam at a one-day surf camp, hosted by Florida Hospital.

Three miles south of Florida Hospital Oceanside, at 264 S. Atlantic Ave., instructors from Mimi Munro Surf Camp helped residents catch their first waves, along with the help of the East Coast Surfing Champion herself.

The event was one of several “Change Your Life” initiatives hosted by the hospital, meant to promote healthier living.
