Missing crash?

5:54 p.m. — 700 block of Airport Road, Ormond Beach

Aircraft crash. Police were dispatched to the airport after a pilot reported seeing a Cessna plane had crashed in the Ormond Beach area, northwest of the airport. But did a plane actually crash?

According to the incident report, several law enforcement units patrolled the area and the reporting officer spoke with a nearby aviation company employee who advised only one aircraft had flown from the airport to St. Augustine, and that the trip had been successful. Employees at the airport tower advised they had no knowledge of an aircraft crash. Law enforcement officers in Flagler County were also contacted; they didn't report any crashes there either.

Air One was used to try to locate the aircraft, flying from Daytona Beach to Ormond Beach, but found nothing. Throughout the course of the investigation, a resident flagged down deputies and informed them they had seen a "big cloud of gray dust" on Leeway Trail and Arabian Trail, but nothing was found. Other residents advised they heard a crash or saw a "big puff of smoke" in the same area.

There have been no reports of unaccounted planes, police report.

Surveillance footage from the night before showed a 61-year-old Ormond Beach man get out of his car, lick the back end of one of the sex toys and sticking it on the stop sign. He threw the other one from his car.

Overstaying your welcome

3:36 p.m. — first block of Byron Ellinor Drive, Ormond Beach

Theft. Police spoke with a 29-year-old Ormond Beach woman who told them, that two months ago, her landlord had hired a 35-year-old Daytona Beach man to complete some maintenance in her unit — namely, to tighten a fan in her bedroom.

According to the incident report, the woman said that the man was in her room for three-and-a-half hours until she finally had to tell him to leave. She noticed $27 that had been at the top of her dresser were now missing, and that her dirty laundry had been looked through. She believed the man was smelling her underwear.

The woman told police that she was afraid to confront the man about the stolen cash and just wanted him to leave. She said the landlord planned to pay her back so that's why she didn't initially report the theft. However, the woman was then informed she would need police report to be paid, as she was now moving out.

She didn't want to press charges. The landlord told police that the man had been fired on the day of the incident.
