Letter: Keep the beaches open

Reader says beaches are one of the last places left to get open air and exercise.

Dear Editor:

We live in Ormond Beach. It would be a big mistake to shut down our beaches here. There are no large gatherings, no crowds, including Flagler.

Because all the schools are closed, colleges shut down, bars forced to close, many restaurants closed, stores are closed, the beach is all we have left. Open air, exercise. Don't take away the one thing we have left.

The beach give those with children a chance to get out. I'm glad that bike week came and went before all the closures. It provided revenue for those places that are now forced to close. Keep our beaches open please, give us a place to go to. We are following guidelines. I cannot imagine anyone wanting the beaches closed.
