Readers: The Ormond Garage is an eyesore, plain and simple; and, hey, expensive doesn't always mean quality — AARP was right.

Yep, Ormond Garage has got to go

Dear Editor,

Thank you to Teddy Blauvelt for stating exactly what so many of us are thinking every time we drive by that ugly green shed. To see such an eyesore erected on what is finally a lovely, beachside park, well, what were they thinking?

If the car replicas were deteriorating from the ocean air, then move the cars. They should not have been placed there to begin with.

AARP study has real value

Dear Editor,

It is impossible for me to ignore the letter from Chuck Wadro (Thursday. Oct. 24), titled "Being the cheapest is for suckers, AARP." Mr. Wadro is of the opinion that when AARP designated Daytona Beach-Deltona-Ormond Beach as a "Best Place to Retire" on an income of $30,00 per year or less that it is "not a positive for our town." Well, guess what? There are many more, including me, who think that it's pretty nice to know that an objective analysis by a national research organization confirms what we already know.

We live in an area that provides an outstanding quality of life, affordable living and great weather. What more do you want? If Mr. Wadro is uncomfortable living with middle income retirees he can always consider relocation to Manhatten, Honolulu or San Francisco . He should find plenty of rich folks in those places to rub elbows with.
