8:11 p.m.: And we're off. Father Lopez up 2-1 early. Ashley Folsom with with first Green Wave points of the night.
8:13 p.m. Father Lopez is struggling on offense early in this game. They've turned the ball over a few times and trail 6-2 with 3:52 left in the first quarter. Ashley Folsom has the only Father Lopez points. We're in the first TV timeout.
8:17 p.m.: Simone Brown shows a quick flash of the player who scored 16 points in the second half yesterday. She hits a three pointer to cut the lead to 6-5, then gets a block on the defensive end.
8:22 p.m.: End of the first quarter. Miami Country Day 8, Father Lopez 5
Father Lopez needs to cut down the turnovers and start putting together possessions. They're a third quarter team, but they're giving Miami Country Day too many chances right now.
8:25 p.m.: Father Lopez is still struggling offensively and is trailing 12-9 with 5:30 left in the second quarter. They're trying to run their offense from the low post, which they've done a lot this season.
8:28 p.m. We're in another TV timeout. Father Lopez down 14-11, but starting to make ground offensively. Shannon Cranshaw is still scoreless to this point.
8:32 p.m.: Yesterday it felt like Calvary Christain was just hanging with Father Lopez in the first half. Tonight, it feels like Father Lopez is just hanging with Miami Country Day. Green Wave down 16-11 with 2:27 left in the first half.
8:40 p.m.: At the half: Miami Country Day 22, Father Lopez 18.
Father Lopez had the game tied 16-16 with about two minutes left in the first half after Brown scored and drew a foul. her free throw tied the game.
The Green Wave had some momentum going for them at that point, but turned the ball over a few times and let the Spartans regain the lead.
Father Lopez is a second-half team and in yesterday's semifinal game entered the half without the momentum. They players said that fired them up to come out and control the second half, which they did. It'll be interesting to see if they can do it again tonight. It'll be a much tougher challenge.
8:53 p.m. Father Lopez starts the second half doing a better job rebounding, but still can't convert on second-chance points. They give up a three and Folsom answers with a two-pointer. Green Wave trail 25-20 with 6:00 left in the third quarter.
8:58 p.m.: Father Lopez is trailing 25-22, but the Green Wave are hanging in there. They're probably one or two positive offensive possessions away from swinging this game in their favor. That's easier said than done, though.
9:02 p.m. Just as I say that, Miami Country Day extends its lead to 30-24 as Father Lopez's turnover woes continue. The Green Wave really can't have too many more empty possessions at this point.
9:06 p.m.: Father Lopez trails 30-27 at the end of the third quarter. It's probably not the quarter Father Lopez wanted, but the Green Wave will have a shot to win it in the fourth quarter. You can't ask for too much more than that.
9:10 p.m.: Folsom grabs a big offensive rebound and scores, bringing the game to 30-29 with 6:05 left.
9:13 p.m.: Turnovers are, again, an issue for Father Lopez. The Green Wave trail 34-29 with 5:33 left in the game.
9:17 p.m.: Brown starts to look like she did yesterday. She drives the lane and dishes to Folsom who ties the game 34-34. We're in a timeout, with 3:49 left in the game.
9:20 p.m. Father Lopez takes the lead after Brown's layup. Miami Country Day answers to tie the game 36-36 with 2:44 left.
9:24 p.m.: Shannon Cranshaw hits two free throws to give the Green Wave a 38-36 lead with 1:50 left in the game.
9:26 p.m.: We have 51.7 seconds remaining and Father Lopez is up 40-38.
9:31 p.m.: Father Lopez is up 42-40 with 11.3 left.
9:34 p.m. Lopez up 44-40 with 5.2 left.
9:35 p.m.: Final Score: Father Lopez 44, Miami Country Day 40
