Local baker wins TV competition

Cakery Creation gets national publicity.

Liz Huber, owner of Cakery Creation, 11 W. Granada Blvd., won the competition on the Cake Wars TV show Jan. 25, walking away with the $10,000 top prize.

She said a crowd of about 65 people at her viewing party at Houligan’s, 1110 W. Granada Blvd., erupted into cheers when she won.

“It was crazy,” Huber said.

Huber was accompanied on the trip by her manager, Nicole Homsey, who assisted her in the competition against three other teams.
