The "From My Heart" concert, May 11, will benefit Seabreeze High School’s American Musical Theatre program.

The American Musical Theatre program at Seabreeze High School doesn’t receive any funding from its school or state or district. So it supports itself through fundraisers, like the "From My Heart" concert, taking place 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

“If well attended, (this concert) can make a significant contribution to keeping this arts program alive at Seabreeze,” said Samuel Tomarelli, the concert’s producer and sound engineer.

Tomarelli’s daughter, Sara, is also one of the show’s two stars.

Featuring mostly love songs, the concert will showcase student performers Sara Tomarelli, from Seabreeze, and Ormond Beach’s Ashley King, a home-schooler who’s also dual-enrolled at Daytona State College, singing in English, Italian, Spanish and French. The second show Tomarelli and King have put on together — the first was last May — "From My Heart" is shooting to achieve a classical-operatic style, Samuel Tomarelli says.

Each with nine years of vocal instruction from local voice coaches Jo Traywick and Anna Maria Cavicchia, Tomarelli and King started planning this show last June.

The two-hour performance will be held at the Seabreeze High School Auditorium, 2700 N. Oleander Ave. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased the night of at the theater’s box office.
