The newest Mrs. Corporate America, a resident of Volusia County, plans to use her title to advance the causes she cares about including encouraging women and helping children.
Rachel Arazashvili and her nonprofit charity for foster kids, called Kidds are First, were featured in an earlier issue of the Observer. On April 7, she won the 11th annual Mrs. Corporate America contest.
Ms./Mrs. Corporate America is an organization similar to Miss America and holds its event each year in Orlando. This year, about 25 competitors from around the nation took part in interviews, formal wear, creative wear and an onstage question. Community leaders serve as judges.
Arazashvili sees the crown and sash as giving her a platform to work for her causes of helping foster kids, orphans and those with autism. One of her sons, Noah, 9, has autism, and she gave up her nursing career to care for him. This past January, she found a nanny for him, and now has time to get involved in the community.
She said she will also work to encourage young women to aspire to their goals. She already has plans to go to New York to work with the Boys and Girls Club.
“I want to make a difference in people’s lives,” she said.
She also wants to get involved locally and work to inspire women. She has started to contact Chambers of Commerce and organizations about being involved in events as Mrs. Corporate America.
“It’s time for women to lift each other up,” she said. “We need to celebrate each other.”
Ms./Mrs. Corporate America mixes business and beauty, and provides a platform for women to promote themselves, enhance self-confidence and leadership skills and establish friendships with other professional women, according to a statement from the organization. The contestants take part in seminars with successful businesswomen and meet community leaders.

CFO named
Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has selected Cully Chapman to serve as chief financial officer. Chapman most recently served as the vice president of finance for physician practice services at Community Health Systems’ corporate offices in Franklin, Tennessee.
Garcia board certified
The National Board of Trial Advocacy has announced that Luis Gracia of the law firm Rue and Ziffra has achieved recertification as a Social Security Disability trial advocate. Spruce Creek junior wins laptop
Spruce Creek High School junior Ryan Welch got a surprise as she was presented with a new laptop computer, courtesy of Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM, Spectrum and Jeep Beach Inc., as part of the Excellence in Education program, Wednesday, April 11. Welch's mentor, Karie Cappiello, received dinner for four, courtesy of Malcolm’s at LPGA International.
Since the program started in 2009, 10 students have received the grand prize of a brand new vehicle.
Students are encouraged to bring their official report card to Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM to submit their entries for the contest. Students earn multiple entries based on A’s and B’s, perfect attendance and participation in school-sponsored activities.
At the end of each grading period a name is drawn from those entered with the winning entry awarded a new laptop. At the end of the 2017-2018 school year a name will be drawn from each school from all entries submitted throughout the year. These selected students will then attend an end-of-the year reception at LPGA International on June 7, with one winner driving away in a brand new 2018 Jeep Compass.
