A 53-year-old man, who lives near Ormond Beach on Avenue C,  is facing two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition after he was accused on June 13 of exposing himself to two young girls.

Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue C at 3:16 p.m. after receiving a complaint regarding a sex offense.

Two girls, ages 12 and 13, were playing hide and seek in a backyard when one of them looked over in the direction of a nearby property and saw Michael East sitting on his back porch. One of the girls said East pulled out his penis from underneath his shorts and began to twirl it. The other girl said she also saw East exposing himself. The girls immediately ran inside and told a parent what had happened.

When the parent confronted East, he took off on foot. About a half-hour after deputies got on scene to begin their investigation, East returned to the area.

During questioning, East admitted exposing himself. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on $20,000 bond.
