Ormond Beach Police arrested a Daytona Beach man after he stole $87.43 worth of assorted cigarettes from Mobil Gas Station, located on 650 S. Atlantic Ave.

Witnesses told police they saw a white male, wearing a green tank top and a red hat, use a skateboard to smash the front glass door of the gas station around 2 a.m. Aug. 11. He then entered the business and stole 15 packs of cigarettes.

Officers located Brandon Capponi, 18, in the 700 block of Riverside Drive and he was wearing the same outfit witnesses had described. Capponi also had a small cut on the back of his right leg. He was identified by the witness and arrested for burglary and petty theft. He was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail with $2,000 bond.
