An 18-year-old Port Orange man died March 31 when his motorcycle crashed into a telephone pole on Ocean Shore Boulevard (State Road A1A).

Officers from the Ormond Beach Police Department say the crash happened around 11:29 p.m. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and hit the pole. The operator of the motorcycle, Zachariah Warner, 18 of Port Orange, was transported to Halifax Hospital by VCSO helicopter.
