Unarmed burglary. A 47-year-old man blamed the lack of sidewalks for the reason he was running through people's back yards. He was stopped by police after receiving a call about possible squatters in a house on Beach Street.

Officers did not find anyone in the house initially, but less than an hour later, a witness told police she saw the man exit the house wearing a pair of black shorts and carrying bags of food. She told officers the man told her that he had been hiding in the attic when police were searching the house.

When detained, police report the man said, "What? I was just running! I'm just hungry that's all." The homeowner whose house he had occupied returned later that day, and she told police her refrigerator door was ajar. She reported a large coffee container and a bottle of whiskey to be missing, both which were found in the bushes in the back yard of the house.

The man was arrested and taken to jail.
