McLeish ends try for City Commission

Troy Kent is now unopposed.

Shannon McLeish has announced she is dropping out of the race for City Commission Zone 2, due to a family illness.

The seat is currently held by Troy Kent who is running for re-election. Kent is now unopposed, unless someone else enters the race before qualifying ends on June 24.

McLeish said she remains dedicated to Ormond Beach and plans to do what she can for the community, but at this time she is going to devote herself to taking care of her mother who has become ill.

McLeish and her husband own and operate The Pocket Jeweler, 30 W. Granada Blvd., and she is a volunteer in several organizations.
