The Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd., hosted artist Sandra Gottlieb Friday, March 15, for an opening reception of her ocean- and tulip-themed photography.

“Her poetic work conveys the sense of impermanence in both nature and human existence,” says Susan Richmond, museum director.

Gottlieb’s exhibit, “The Images of Sandra Gottlieb,” will run through April 14.

A former professional ballerina, Gottlieb studied fine arts at Brooklyn College, and photography at the International Center of Photography, in New York. She has also appeared in several off-Broadway plays and on daytime TV.

"Every day at every moment is different,'' Gottlieb said. “"I like to get a conceptual view of the piece. I always experience it through shapes, color and light.''

Her work has been featured in solo shows throughout the United States.
