Need sandbags? Here's the latest Volusia County sandbag update

Residents in Volusia County can fill their own bags with sand at five separate locations.

In preparation for Hurricane Irma, sandbags are available at the following locations in Volusia County.

Residents may bring their own bags and shovels and fill their own bags at the following locations, while supplies last. ID is required. Ten sandbags are available per vehicle per visit.

·       Oak Hill Fire Station, 213 N. U.S. 1, Oak Hill
·       Volusia County Road and Bridge, 200 N. State Road 415, Osteen
·       Pierson Fire Station, 132 N. Fountain Drive, Pierson
·       Volusia County Fairgrounds, 3150 E. State Road 44, DeLand
·       Volusia County Correctional Facility, 1354 Indian Lake Road,
Daytona Beach.

 

Ormond Beach

In addition, the City of Ormond Beach will have sandbags available until 1 p.m. today at 501 N. Orchard St.

Residents should use Sterthaus Drive as traffic on North Orchard Street between Lincoln Avenue and Sterthaus Drive is restricted.

Sand is also available at the Nova Recreation Center Complex, 440 N. Nova Road, near the skate park.

Residents need to bring their own shovels and bags. They must provide identification and there is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle.
