Instacart will launch in two local zip codes on May 18.
There's a convenient new way Ormond Beach residents can get their groceries — delivered right to their front door.
Starting May 18, Instacart will be launching delivery service for their membership program through stores including like Publix, Petco, ABC Fine Wine & Spirit. Instacart offers same day deliveries in as little as one hour.
The delivery area will cover over 242K households — including zip codes 32176 and 32174 — and will also be providing more than 100 new jobs.
Customers go online to instacart.com or open the Instacart mobile app on their iPhone or Android device, select their city/store, add items to a virtual cart, then choose a delivery window (within one hour, within two hours, or up to seven days in advance) and check out. An Instacart shopper accepts the order on his/her smartphone, uses the Instacart shopper app to guide them through shopping, and then delivers the order to the customer in the designated delivery timeframe.
FHMMC honors volunteers
In honor of National Healthcare Volunteer Week, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center hosted a volunteer appreciation luncheon at the Halifax River Yacht Club for more than 100 volunteers April 18.
During the event, volunteers Pat Alekson and Dotty Welcher received special recognition for their service. Alekson has contributed 10,000 hours of volunteer service, and Welcher has been a hospital volunteer for more than 50 years, contributing 15,000 hours of volunteer service.
“Our volunteers are an essential part of our team,” said Darlinda Copeland, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center chief operating officer. “We are so appreciative of our nearly 300 volunteers for donating their time and loving care to our patients and visitors, as well as their significant fundraising to support our hospital.”
In its 50-year history, the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary has donated more than $4.9 million to the hospital, helping support patient services, equipment investments, nursing education and the construction of new facilities.
