Nova Community Center to be sandbag distribution center for Ormond Beach

Hurricane Dorian is expected to impact Florida on Labor Day, according to the National Hurricane Center.

With Hurricane Dorian likely to impact Florida Monday morning as a possible Category 3 storm, the city of Ormond Beach will begin sandbag distribution on Thursday. 

The distribution will run from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. at the Nova Community Center, located at 440 N. Nova Road. Pending availability, the city said the same schedule will be in place for sandbag distribution on Friday, Aug. 30. Sandbags are limited to 10 bags per car.

You must be an Ormond Beach resident to receive sandbags. Please bring a photo ID. Cars must enter from Main Trail and will exit back onto Nova Road. The community center will be closed Thursday and Friday due to sandbag distribution.
