Oasis Church in Ormond Beach will host its 2016 inaugural Oasis in Africa Golf Tournament April 23 to raise money for AIDS affected and infected orphans at Christ’s Hope International’s “The Rock” in Okahandja, Namibia.

The partnership between Oasis Church and Christ’s Hope International was formed in 2013 so that the people of Oasis Church could oversee the “The Rock” Care Point Center in Okahandja, Namibia. This partnership includes child sponsorship, care for the children, Care Point Center needs, facilitating and sending teams, training and design of outreach activities.

In July, 2016, a mission team from Oasis Church will head to the Care Point Center to help build additional classrooms, by converting six shipping containers into livable, usable space, so that one hundred more children can be cared for at the facility.

“Making a difference in the lives of these children is a passion held by so many at Oasis Church,” said Guy Beasley, Mission Team Leader for the project in a press release. “We are so blessed to be in this country and to be able to help the less fortunate in other countries as well as building a better community right here in Ormond Beach.”

The shotgun scramble time is at 8 a.m., and the registration fee of $100 includes the greens fee for 18 holes of golf on the Riverbend Golf Club course, 730 Airport Road, a cart and a BBQ lunch. The tournament will also feature a silent auction and awards ceremony.

Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsorships are available, as well as hole sponsorships. Registration to become a sponsor and/or to play golf can be done online at OasisChurchFL.com/OasisInAfrica. And, if you’re not a golfer but would like to donate toward this project and for additional information, please contact Rachael Becker at [email protected].
