The United States Professional Tennis Association Champions of Champions 11th-annual Charity Tennis Tournament between the local tennis clubs’ best players was held for a giant cup, bragging rights and a fundraiser for a local United Way charity, Volusia Literacy Council.

The event was a tremendous success with 120 of the County’s best players competing in multiple-age and tennis rating brackets. Defending champions from Oceanside Country Club held on to the Champions Cup despite a late surge from Daytona Beach’s Florida Tennis Center, the former champs who finished runner-up.

Every year the event continues to gain momentum with an enthusiastic following of local players who enjoy the competition and raise money for a worthwhile cause. Among the local tennis facilities that finished in the Top five include: Oceanside Country Club 31 pts, Florida Tennis Center 25 pts, Ormond Tennis Center 10 pts, Plantation Bay Tennis & Fitness 7 pts, Ocean Racquet Club TIED with Victoria Gardens 6pts.
