One Daytona announced on Tuesday, Nov. 2, the return of the second-annual One Daytona Art Festival in partnership with Gallery500, a contemporary fine art gallery at the lifestyle and entertainment center. The award-winning art festival is scheduled for Nov. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a free event welcoming residents and visitors to experience a weekend of art and culture. The juried and non-juried outdoor fine art show will coincide with the Welcome to Rockville Festival being held at Daytona International Speedway and Over The Edge hosted by The NASCAR Foundation at One Daytona.

“We are proud to partner with One Daytona to co-host the Art Festival for a second consecutive year,” said Lesa Kennedy, Gallery500 owner. “In addition to artists that are returning from last year, we have attracted new local, regional, and international artists.”

New this year, visitors will get to see world renowned French American artist, Erwin Dazelle, work on a mural featuring the rich history of racing in Daytona Beach and at the World Center of Racing. Dazelle will use his figurative style to create a mural that will be in The Daytona hotel corridor at Victory Circle. On Sunday, the artist will also paint live for VIP guests and his pieces will be available for purchase at Gallery500.

Another new element this year is a live chalk art competition with eight prestigious artists competing for Best in Show and Best in Show Runner Up awards. Visitors can participate in the People’s Choice award by voting for their favorite chalk art display through a donation. Chalk Art Competition awards will be announced at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Victory Circle stage.

The second-annual One Daytona Art Festival will feature more than 90 artists and vendors, representing a mix of local, regional, national, and international painters, photographers, and artisans. Brandon Stanley and Gabriel Collazo are two artists from Central Florida who’ll be participating.

Brandon Stanley is a photographer who was recently featured in Gallery500’s Emerging Artist Series. He was born and raised in Titusville and now calls Daytona Beach home. This talented photographer started out capturing images with his phone but eventually upgraded to a Sony A6300 camera. Currently, Stanley uses an underwater housing unit for his camera which allows him to capture unique images that are centered around the water and his love for the ocean.

Gabriel Collazo is an abstract artist who’s returning to the second-annual One Daytona Art Festival. Born and raised in Texas, Collazo moved to Florida as a young musician and has been creating art for more than 20 years. Collazo’s work has been displayed in some of the most prominent art galleries in the country and currently, he’s preparing to participate in the famous Art Basel in Miami Beach.

The Saturday Awards Ceremony will take place on the Victory Circle stage at 5 p.m. on Nov. 13. Artists entered in the juried portion of the festival will compete to win prizes for Best in Show, Award of Distinction, and Award of Merit. In total, more than $10,000 will be awarded in prizes this year.

The weekend’s festivities will also include a Volusia County Public Schools student art exhibit, a creative Kids Zone with hands-on art projects, a free take-home kids art project, live music, great food and more.

In November 2020, the inaugural One Daytona Art Festival drew over 90 artists and provided significant donations to the area’s arts education including $15,000 donated to Volusia County Schools Visual Arts Program and $5,000 to ArtHaus.

In 2022 the One Daytona Art Festival will be moving to April 2 and 3, following its original plan to become a spring fine art juried festival.
