Ormond Beach Air Patrol Squadron granted excellence award

For the second year in a row, the Ormond Beach Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol was awarded the National Aerospace Education Excellence Award.

They're at it again.

For the second year in a row, the Ormond Beach Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol was awarded the National Aerospace Education Excellence Award.

Through hands-on aviation and space-related education, Civil Air Patrol cadets completed six aerospace activities that focused on rocketry. Major Gary Dahlke, a CAP member and NASA employee, travelled to Ormond Beach to work with the cadets.

The cadets also participated in Model Rocketry Day June 14 where launched rockets they built themselves. During this event they also received their CAP Model Rocketry Badge.
