Sand Dollar Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America

FRIDAY, JAN. 8

27th-Annual Starry, Starry Night

5 to 8 p.m. at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum. Free. The event runs from the museum to The Casements. There will be light refreshments at each venue, an artist market on The Casements’ North Lawn and a free shuttle service for those that do not want to stroll. Call 676-3347.

SATURDAY, JAN. 9

3rd-Annual Artists’ Party: Into the Woods We Must Go

10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 9 and 10 at Tomoka State Park. The Florida Women’s Art Association will display their works and lead free workshops on Jan. 9: 

  • “Sketching a Live Model” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
  • “Coffee, Cocoa, and Collage” from 1 to 3 p.m. 

Neil Diamond Tribute

7 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center. Cost is $30 for reserved and $35 at the door. Call 676-3375.

TUESDAY, JAN. 12

January Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences: Stetson Art Professor 

10 a.m. at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach. Professor Emerita of Art History and Curator of the Vera Bluemner Kouba Collection at Stetson University Dr. Roberta Smith Favis will discuss “The Ponce de Leon Studios in St. Augustine Artist and Salons in Florida’s Gilded Age.” The meeting is open to the public with free parking.

Florida Licensing On Wheels

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles FLOW mobile is a standalone mobile office with technology to provide most motorists’ needs, such as driver’s license/ID card change of address, renewals, replacements, and renewals and replacements of vehicle registration and disabled parking permits. The only thing FLOW does not provide is for the drivers’ license road test. Ask the Expert: Essential Oils

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ormond Beach YMCA. This class will teach you the basics about essential oils, when to use them, why to use them and the important health benefits.

The American Chronic Pain Association's Ormond/Daytona Beach Chapter

1:30 p.m. in the cafe at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The meeting's topic will be "How I Coped With Pain During the Holidays and My Goals for 2016." Contact Facilitator Jane McGarity at 262-4512.

Canvas and Cocktails: Van Gogh-Inspired Sunshine with Sherrill Schoening 

6 to 8 p.m. at Ormond Memorial Art Museum. These extremely popular classes are designed for beginners. We provide all of the supplies, beverages and instruction. Open to anyone over the age of 21. No experience necessary. Cost is $35 for members and $38.50 for nonmembers and includes all supplies and  wine, beer or soda. Call 677-3347.
