An 18-year-old Ormond Beach man was arrested Monday, July 3, in Daytona Beach after shouting racial slurs at a black man and woman and threatening to shoot them during a road rage incident, according to police.

Ramey was at a stoplight at the intersection of Seneca Street and International Speedway Boulevard when the light turned green and the minivan in front of him did not move, so Ramey honked the horn on his pickup truck and went around it, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The man and woman in the minivan told police that Ramey then slammed his breaks in front of them and called them a racial slur. A witness saw the man and woman jump out of their minivan and start screaming at Ramey.

Ramey got our of his truck with a shotgun, swinging it around and pointing it at the couple. The woman told police Ramey continued saying the racial slur and telling them he would shoot them.

The man and woman got back inside their minivan and drove to a nearby gas station, but Ramey followed them until the woman called 911, when he drove off.

Ramey was later stopped by police for violating a traffic control device and failing to signal. Inside his truck, police found two guns and 3.31 grams of marijuana. Ramey also had a 12-pack of Budweiser beer and an opened bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey in the passenger seat.

After the traffic stop, police asked Ramey how he was doing. He said “Not good,” adding that he almost had to shoot a “c--n” at the bank.

Daytona Beach Police took Ramey to the Volusia County Branch jail and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and underage possession of liquor.
