The Ormond Beach Police Department collected about 100 toys during its first Grinch-busters toy drive on Friday, Nov. 27.

These included seven bicycles, and additionally, several cash and gift card donations, said Community Outreach Police Officer Danielle Henderson in an email.

The police department set out with the goal to fill its mine-resistant, armored-protective vehicle, also known as an MRAP, with toys. All donations will go to the Ormond Beach Police Athletic League and the department's outreach division for distribution in the community this holiday season.

The police department will host another Grinch-busters toy drive at Academy Sports and Outdoors, located at the Tomoka Town Center at 1511 Cornerstone Blvd., between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.
