Ormond Beach residence's Christmas display keeps growing
Before they moved to Ormond Beach, David and Brandy Schoolcraft only decked out their Indiana home with lights.
Now, four years later, the Schoolcrafts have more than 250 inflatable Christmas decorations in a quarter acre of their home's yard, a display that only a year ago was home to 100. The display just keeps growing.
The couple originally began putting up the inflatables for their personal enjoyment, but over the years they have found true delight in seeing the people that stop by, from children to senior citizens.
“I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many people visit each year," David Schoolcraft said.
After people asked them of donating toward their displays, the Schoolcrafts put up a donation box. With the money collected, they introduced the presence of Santa Claus, have given out candy canes and last year, gave away over 400 teddy bears to every child that stopped by their display.
“People started making contributions to that so we thought, well, you know the community is giving us this. What are we going to do to give back?” David Schoolcraft said.
