Vandalism. An Ormond Beach man called police from a local supermarket parking lot after a woman purposefully rammed her shopping cart into his car after he commented on her shoddy parking. The woman had parked her vehicle over the white line and into the spot the man's vehicle was occupying.
According to the incident report, the man told the woman, "Nice parking job," to which she replied, "Thanks, I'm in a hurry." The man told police the woman then grabbed several crumbled up pieces of paper and threw them at his car. He told police he asked her, "Why are you doing this?" and that's when the woman rammed her cart into the side of his vehicle. The man told police she caused less than $1,000 in damages before she took off.
Police made later contact with the woman, who lives in Ormond Beach as well. She denied hitting the man's car with a shopping cart, but did admit there was an altercation, the incident report states. She told police it was actually the man who threw paper on her car, and that he placed his shopping car behind hers to prevent her from leaving.
The man told police he didn't want to press charges, but that he intended to sue the woman.
Sleeping with one eye open

Possession/use of narcotic paraphernalia. An Ormond Beach police officer was patrolling a local plaza when he spotted a man sleeping on a bench in front of a business. He approached the individual, who said he was not, in fact, sleeping; he was just laying on the bench.
The officer asked if the man had an ID on hand, and the man said yes, but that he didn't feel like going through his backpack to get it, according to the police report. The officer said he was being detained for trespassing and that he would need to see his ID. The man only provided the officer with the first letter of his name, saying that he was doing nothing wrong.
The man was placed in handcuffs and during a search of his items, police found marijuana, according to the report. He was taken to jail.
