While an Ormond Beach resident didn’t win it all, the city’s participants put their stamp on the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA Triathlon Series, taking 18 of the top 50 places, including the first female finisher, on Sunday, June 21, in Ormond Beach.

Racers had to swim 300 yards, hop on a bike and ride 10 miles, and then close out the three-course event with a 5K run.

Those who finished in the Top 30 included: John Dodd, third; Wesley Morris, fourth; Ken Klein, fifth; Joe Ventura, sixth; Aaron Jenkins, seventh; Matthew Banker, ninth; Todd Graff, 10th; Naomi Ventura, 18th (the first overall female finisher); Scott White, 19th; Troy Railsback, 20th; Scott Bell, 21st, Jeff Goldman, 23rd; William Lisle, 27th; and Dalton L’Heureux, 28th.
