Noise. A neighbor called police over a noise complaint, and when the reporting officer arrived at the home, he encountered a couple who said they were playing board games. After they headed back inside their home, the officer came across the neighbor again, who told him the couple had loudly cursed her out as soon as they went back in.

The neighbor said she didn't feel safe while home alone, and that this wasn't the first time she'd contacted police over the noise issue.

It's too late to apologize

1500 block of West Granada Boulevard — 4:57 p.m.

Petit theft. A 42-year-old DeLeon Springs man begged police for a notice to appear in court rather than getting arrested after he was caught stealing almost $40 of merchandise from a local supermarket, which included some cat litter. The man also had previously stolen items and received gift cards for "returning" them.

The man repeatedly apologized, according to the police report. Still, he was taken to jail.
