Charles Fuller, 79, of Ormond Beach, entered an open plea of no contest Tuesday, March 12, to a first-degree felony charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving a death. Judge R. Michael Hutcheson heard the plea and will file a sentence in approximately two months.

The crash occurred last year at about 9:20 p.m. March 18, near the intersection of Airport Road and U.S. 1. Fuller was traveling northbound on U.S. 1, and according to the report, made a left turn directly into the path of Anthony Fretto, who was riding a motorcycle southbound.

After the crash, Fuller drove home, without giving aid at the scene or reporting the crash to authorities. He was arrested at his residence, where, according to the report, he admitted to law enforcement he was driving the car and never saw Fretto’s motorcycle.

Fuller’s wife was a passenger in the car during the crash.
