Ormond man sentenced to life for stabbing couple

An Ormond Beach man who attacked a couple in their home Dec. 27, 2015 was sentenced to life earlier this week.

Michael Dakota Phillips was arrested Jan. 6, 2016 after Shelly Phillips identified him as the man who stabbed her and her husband, Adam Phillips multiple times in their home on Andrews Street. The defendant is not related to the victims.

Witnesses told police that Michel Phillips walks around the area all hours of the night and that he had PTSD from having to kill people in combat. Police did not confirm that.

Michel Phillips is 20 years old.
