It was the perfect summer weather to kickoff the Summer Sounds Concert Series July 11.

Classic rock band Bob Yates and MO’Mentum played at the Rockefeller Gardens for close to 100 Ormond Beach residents. Cultural Center Coordinator for The Casements Siobhan Daly said it was the perfect weather for the outdoor concert.

“The last couple years, the first and second concerts have been rained out,” Daly, who is performing with her band Knights to Remember July 25, said. “All of the groups are local, so we’re showcasing local talent.”

Daly said the attendance grows with each free concert as the word gets out but there’s always a steady 100-150 people that come out.

“I think it’s a nice opportunity for people to come out and enjoy the summer,” Daly said. “They can chill out and have a good time.”

The event was hosted by the City of Ormond Beach’s Department of Leisure Services.
