Locals to style, profile in museum fashion show

A 13-year fashion show organizer, stylist Pam Elkins moved to Ormond Beach in 1998 and, for her latest event, she will be the commentator at the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences Oct. 8 fashion show, at the Sunset Harbor Yacht Club and Conference Center.

Ormond Beach’s Marilyn Sternberg, who chairs the event, will fill the show, “Destination: Fashion — What to Wear Where and Look Your Fabulous Best,” with women’s fashions for every occasion, from Chez Aline, located at 142 E. Granada Blvd.

The show will benefit the Museum of Arts & Sciences, as well as the Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum. A luncheon will be served by Stonewood Grill & Tavern. Cost: $35 per person.

Reserve by Oct. 4, by calling 756-2342.

Junior League clothes low-income students

The Junior League of Daytona Beach supplied more than 120 local students back-to-school clothing and shoes Sept. 15, at the organization’s fourth-annual Best Foot Forward event, at the Volusia Mall.

The group hopes to stimulate self-confidence and self-worth through the program. Each student in need got their own “personal shopper” for the day.
