Six Ormond Beach actors, and an Ormond Beach director, round out the cast to the Daytona Playhouse's "You Can't Take It With You." And, a pet-adoption promotion and free gardening class coming soon.

Ormond Beachers don’t take it with them

Ormond Beach director Bruce Heighley will lead Ormond Beach actors Caitlyn Reynolds, Christine Nestor, Nick Harshman, Samantha Cooper, J. Walker Fischer and Robert Seigel in the upcoming production of “You Can’t Take It With You,” at the Daytona Playhouse, 100 Jessamine Blvd.

The show runs May 10-19. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and $5 for kids under 18.

The Playhouse will also host open auditions for 8- to 11--year-olds 6:30 p.m. May 19-20, for its July musical production of “Captain Hook’s Revenge.”

The Ormond Memorial Art Museum, at 78 E. Granada Blvd., will host a free gardening class 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, instructed by Janett Taylor. The veteran master gardener will show which plants may be propogated through cuttings, division, offshoots and seeds. Call 676-3347.
