Local charities are coming together May 6 for the first annual day of giving.

Local charities are coming together May 6 for the first annual day of giving.

The Community Foundation of East Central Florida has their fingers crossed that May 6, Ormond Beach residents will use their internet for giving not posting.

Give Local Flagler, Putnam and Volusia is a 24 hour local day of online giving hosted by CFECF. A part of the national Give Local Day, this one time only event will give 46 local nonprofit groups a chance to benefit from their community.

The historic celebration is in honor of the 100th anniversary of community foundations in the country. The event is sponsored by Daytona Auto Mall and other local businesses.
