OUR TOWN: Ormond residents dance in Nutcracker Ballet

The Nutcracker Ballet was performed by Ormond Beach dancers.

Dancers from Ormond Beach performed in the Civic Ballet of Volusia County for its 27th Nutcracker Ballet last weekend. The company of 107 people danced to the classic holiday performance at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach.

Janet Peburn, president of CBVC, said almost 2,000 people came to see the show.

“The shows were flawless; the guest artists were incredible; the audience was electric,” Peburn said. One of the Ormond dancers was Julie Wittenberg, who played the Snow Queen.

In it’s 32nd year, the Civic Ballet is a nonprofit organization meant to enrich and promote dance arts to area children and the community.
