Some names go down in history for fame or fortune. But one Ormond Beach woman will be remembered in the name of safety.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals recently recognized Jessica Bohan by naming an annual college scholarship after her. The $1,000 2014 BCSP-Jessica Bohan Technician, Technologist, and Supervisory Scholarship will be awarded in April to a college student majoring in occupational safety, health and the environment.

“Jessica embodies our organization’s core values of respect, excellence, accountability and leadership, as well as the spirit this scholarship represents,” Treasa Turnbeaugh, board CEO, said in a press release.

Bohan is an 18-year veteran of the safety and health industry. She currently works as a Senior Safety & Health Consultant for The Zenith Insurance.
